at somebody's heels: if a person or animal is at your heels, they are following closely behind you:
- He could hear the dog trotting at his heels.
pace behind somebody:

stomp(v): to walk with heavy steps or to put your foot down very hard, especially because you are angry [= stamp]:

snarl
snarl (v): make an angry noise, like an animal does

snarl : if an animal snarls, it makes a low angry sound and shows its teeth

snarl up : to prevent traffic from moving:
